puppy love

I am not a dog person. I do not like when they lick me and jump all over me. No offence dog lovers, but I hate when people call their dogs their children and let them sleep in their bed. I never thought that I would ever want to own a slobbery stinky dog. But for the past year I have been obsessed with West Highland Terriers. Is this the cutest thing that you've ever seen or what? I want one for my birthday with a big red bow on his head. But not for my 26th birthday. Our apartment is way too tiny and we don't have a yard for this little cutie to run around in. But one day for my birthday, this is what I want. Maybe like my 30th birthday ... which omg is only 4 years away! Is it too soon to start wishing and thinking of cute little doggy names?

My friend and fellow blogger Megan has left the comforts of North Carolina to take on a year long adventure as a nanny in Holland. This week she's scored the keys to her nanny-family's Central London flat and will be paying me a little visit. I'm über excited for a number of reasons .....

* It's been wayyyy too long. I think the last time that we saw each other was when we were 19 or 20!

* She shares my love of travel, food and booze.

* I can't wait to swap nanny stories.

* She's American! A rare treat for me to spend time with someone from the good Ol US of A.

* It's her first time in London, I can't wait to hear what she thinks of this amazing city.

On this day in history ...

26 years ago today the world was blessed with the presence of Ashley Curtis. Exactly a week before I came on the scene and over 3,000 miles away. It's funny how the world brings people together. Wishing my wonderful boyfriend a year full of happiness and lots more memories together. I love you with all my heart and feel so lucky to have you in my life. Happy birthday baby.

a reallllllly happy friday

Pop the bubbly! I got some good, great, wonderful, fabulous news! I got the magic email last night saying that I passed my January exam / class (Conceptual and Strategic Perspectives of Human Resource Management - whatever that means).This is a ''provisional'' pass meaning that yet another exam board meets to finalize the result (in freaking November!) but it is unlikely to be changed. Long story short I am well on my way to getting that Masters in Human Resource Management and Organizational Analysis. One more exam in May and then I am donezo! I could have never gotten through this without the love and support of Ash and my family and all of you, so a big big thanks for keeping me motivated. Maybe one day when I'm CEO of an HR company I'll take y'all out for a drink.
